I've worked in fast-paced newsrooms and corporate publishing, environments where as a woman staying quiet felt safer than standing out. Where softening your message felt necessary. Where the performance of "professional" was exhausting.
I understand the invisible forces that keep talented female leaders stuck: the subtle conditioning, the fear of being "too much," the pattern of making yourself smaller to make others comfortable.
